HISTORY

The Patro Roc-Amadour stable, founded in 2003, has from that time been the group representing Patro Roc-Amadour at the Quebec Carnival’s soapbox derby. In the past few years the PRA stable has grown by creating the craziest soapbox racers around.

BIRTH OF THE STABLE

In 2003, the stable found itself in a position to take part in the 2004 Quebec Carnival Grand Prix. They had to build a single seat chassis that would become Peter Tremblay’s "Pencil-Rocket". A month before the race, the team quickly became aware of its limitations, and it was clear that the car would not be ready in time. A back-up plan was made to get the F2004 ready.

EARLY YEARS AND FIRST TASTES OF GLORY

In 2005, with a carriage finally at the correct height and a fully formed chassis, the PRA stable makes an entrance at the Grand Prix, most notably for the 40 or so fans who accompany the team. After its auspicious debut, the F2005 makes a similar splash the following year with a formidable entourage of 25 young people. Guillaume Fontaine Ouellet will forever be remembered for his comments post-victory over his rival from Cardio Energy, "This makes me want to race real cars."

It is only at the St. Emile championship that the PRA stable has its official debut at the Optimist Grand Prix. Because of this ,the trio of drivers enjoys a great deal of attention, but the F2005 is inexorably shut down by the rain.

THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN

The new single-seater named F10 was concieved in order to house Alexanne Prevost and Elisabeth Richard’s "Big Shoe" in 2011.

The performance didn’t take place, but the giant converse quickly became the star of the show, getting first prize before a huge delegation of 50 supporters. Sadly, this race has joined the league of defunct Grand Prix races.

MASTERING THE POWER

It is the general opinion that the F12 is without a doubt one of the finest single-seaters to have to come out of PRA’s factory. The classic tubular chassis is now equipped with full rear tires, which serve to minimize resistance from wind + rubbing. In the front, one finds rims for tubeless tires which allow for better traction, greater comfort and improved stability. In other news, the steering wheel and the brakes are now put together, to reduce the speed of the single-seater. These give the brakes a support for the lateral turning pivot of the back tires.
